Chané got hold of us through our Facebook fan page and started discussing engagement photo ideas. She wanted something special, important and relevant to her and Xander as a couple. So I began questioning her on a few things; what they do for fun, what hobbies are involved when they are together and well, you get the point. She mentioned herself and Xander go on a lot of fishing trips together and they really enjoy being out with nature just the two of them. This stuck with me and I could not get the idea of them fishing out my mind.

I decided to use my expert Googling skills and found this awesome little place around Henley called Bass Lake. This hidden gem is amazing! It is basically a massive crater filled with water where you can go do your diving course, do bass fishing (catch and release of course) and even camp over night! The water is so clean and clear you can see about 8 metres down!

I contacted Chané and told her my idea, she loved it! We started planning and organised their tent, fishing gear and Xander’s bakkie. I was quite nervous about the venue as we all know, images on a website can be misleading with plenty of places. But this place was beautiful and kept so clean! I was ecstatic! I think the images speak for themselves and this couple did an amazing chop for ‘first timers’ in front of the camera. We had so much fun!
