Matric Farewells are no longer a quick get up and go dance like in my days. (That made me sound old!). In 2007 when I attended my matric dance, I got dressed ten minutes before our entrance, headed off in my friends BMW with my date and then partied. I did pick out a suit for my dance but I barely took two seconds to think about matching or any specific styles in mind.

Nowadays, it is more of an elegant ball than just a matric dance and I actually love that! The girls and guys go to salons, make-up artists and get ready for their night out. It is the night during a tough year they can look forward to and unwind. Guys have tailored suits, the ladies look elegant in beautiful gowns and they hire amazing photographers like me to capture their portrait photos before going to have fun. Jalene & Ivan met me at Lace on Timber where we did their portrait session. It was beyond beautiful and I could not wait to show off these photos in my blog. I honestly feel that choosing a great venue like this for your Matric Farewell shots is really important and should be considered. It would be hard to top this one but I will definitely try.
